PROFILE OF YECASD-GHANA

Youth for Education, Climate Action, Agriculture and Sustainable Development Ghana (YECASD-GH), is a youth-led advocacy and research based non-governmental organization, which is legally registered with the Registrar Generals Department and the Social Welfare Department of Ghana.

  • Mission Statement: To educate, empower, and connect underprivileged individuals and communities to drive collective action for a sustainable future, ensuring a healthy planet, social justice, and economic prosperity for all.

  • Vision Statement: Empowering present and future generations through innovative education, leading the way in climate action and fostering sustainable development for thriving and resilient world.

  • Objectives:

1. Improve access to quality education and healthcare for vulnerable populations.

2. Promote sustainable livelihoods and economic empowerment through skills training and entrepreneurship support.

3. Advocate for environmental conservation and climate change mitigation.

4. Strengthen community resilience and disaster preparedness.

  • Program Areas:

1. Education: provide access to quality education for marginalized communities as well as the deprived.

2. Climate Action: reduce Green House Gas emissions through renewable energy and energy efficiency initiatives, green energy transitioning, promote sustainable land use and forest conservation practices and support climate change research, adaptation and resilience efforts.

3. Sustainable Development: support sustainable economic development and entrepreneurship initiatives, promote social justice and human rights, particularly for vulnerable populations and foster international cooperation and partnership for sustainable development.

4. Agriculture: promote sustainable farming and agroecology, farmer education and capacity building and post-harvest management and value addition.

5. Community Engagement and Advocacy.

  1. Clothed and clad about five hundred and seventy (570) pupils

  2. Supplied about five hundred (500) trees to communities

  3. Trained basic pupils (girls) on how to make reusable sanitary pads and the use of plastic waste to make artifacts.

  4. Yecasd- Ghana has also used the media to engage stakeholders on contemporary issues around our thematic areas.

NB: Even though Yecasd – Ghana have not yet had funding from external sources, we still manage to keep all our records including our financial records very well intact and up-to-date.
